This was a regular lunch spot when I use to live in the area, and choose to stop by again this week while down visiting the Springs. The spuds are delicious, salads are very large, and the French Dips are very good too. However, the few times I ordered different chicken sandwiches, the chicken tasted like it was simply thawed and heated up. The other issue is that some of their sandwiches are a bit small for the pricing. Otherwise the service is usually pretty good, and most food items are good.

HUGE menu, but not very many veggie options. 1 wrap, 1 sandwich or a baked potato. 1 out of the 5 soups. Seems like a nice place but not a whole lot for me.

  • Jeremy K.

I give it a one star because of the people running the place. Very unprofessional and childish. If I could give a lower rating I would. Do not waste your time or money going to this crappie establishment.

I just came here yesterday, and seriously the service was enough for them to get five stars alone. The staff really cares, which seems odd at a deli, when I am used to Panera's mediocre service. We had someone offer to refill our drinks, brought out another dressing for me to try...I asked about their chili they offered a sample, etc. That is awesome! They forgot the chicken on my salad and the manager was very apologetic, seriously all it takes is just nice people sometimes. I really enjoyed my Savannah chopped salad, and my sister enjoyed her veggie soup and chicken caesar salad...the pick two combo is kind of hidden on their paper menus so don't miss it! I like that you can get healthy options here, although the spuds and sandwiches were tempting! Give this place a chance, and if you're a sweet tea person definitely order one, takes me right back to the South where I first discovered this restaurant.

Great service and good food. Nothing blew me away, but this is a solid choice or a good sandwich.

    (4)
  • Jim H.

Everything from the soups and salads to the sandwiches appeared pre-packaged and/or heated up in a microwave. A far superior deli is just across the street so this one feels superfluous and offers little to recommend it. Service was good and friendly and thus the two stars.

Came in because we had seen it for a long while and we love a good deli. This isn't one. Young staff very nice but not too bright. Two orders out of four had to be remade. A salami sandwich had so little meat on it that it barely made it palatable when I put all the meat on one half of the sandwich. And there was nothing on the sandwich but meat - no condiments at all! Everything else mediocre. Now we know. It's not a place we'll visit again. Lemonade was good, though.

It's counter ordering then taking a seat. sweet tea!!! Oh I have missed mcalister's sweet tea!! Big glasses meant for a roady or slowly sippin. If too sweet get half unsweetened and half sweet. The honey mustard is this deli's own. I used to work at this deli during college in Memphis, tn. I know this menu. It's great!! The spuds are 2 potatoes put together then steamed with all to he toppings (spud max) to a melty gooey greatness. Not mircrowaved!! Just introduced some local springs coworkers to this deli and they absolutely loved it!!

I was excited to see to find that McAlister's had come to Colorado Springs. I've always enjoyed their sandwiches, but never tried a salad before. I was really impressed with the salad. And, as always, the sweet tea is really good at McAlister's!

Came here in a pinch, unfortunately. Food is just OK. They messed up our order twice. Even when the admitting missing parts of our order more than once they never offered to comp it. Manager was extremely nice though. Just nothing good enough here to want to come back in.

Love me some Mcalister's sweet tea! Absolutely love this place! Enjoyed this when I was back in Oklahoma, and can now enjoy it in the springs. The service is always friendly and super quick! Our most recent visit was pleasant, and the staff were on top of their game. The store is always clean and nice to eat at. The food was delicious as always. We got the Mcalister's club and a half and half Combo filled with the orange cranberry club/BBQ potato. Washed it all down with their famous sweet tea. By far the best sweet around. I saw some previous yelpers complained about the rude staff. I have been here multiple times and never had a problem. Bottom line this place is a perfect spot for a casual meal. The staff is friendly and the food is good. Get the sweet tea!!!!

Nice friendly service. Sandwiches come out pretty fast. Love that everything taste so fresh and the building is pretty much spotless every time we walk in. I recommend this place if you live closer to North Colorado Springs

We really enjoy the 'pick two', half sandwich, and half "other". I always choose the bacon potato, which comes with cheddar and chives, sour cream and butter optional. Their sandwiches are great - the French Dip is quite good, served with a mug of au jus. They have a number of items on the menu for kids and they offer a fruit option as a side. Their prices are in line with other delis in town. If I could change anything, it would be the hours - they close at 8:00 during the week, which is on the early side.

Awesome soup, sandwiches and spuds! The changing seasons bring new combinations that are always excellent. Don't forget to try the famous sweet tea!

I had my first horrible experience at Mcallister's today. The customer service of the employees was no customer service at all. The lady working refused to take my order and gave me no alternatives other than walking out. I wouldn't even give them one star but I had to

They have a lot of topped baked potatoes. I got the Ole with cheese, chili, and jalapenos and half a sandwich. The portions are generous and the prices are good. They have diet Dr Pepper. They are only open until 8.

I'm changing my review from 5 to 2 stars. This used to be a favorite but i really feel it's gone downhill. Service is bad, food is subpar and price is too high for what ya get. I won't be back.

Friendly place but The Big Nasty was a named, it was pretty bad. The sweet tea and mac and cheese were great. If I get a chance to go again, I would definitely get something else.

I ordered the chicken salad sandwich, pasta salad and tea! I'm pleased with everything as well as the service. Good lunch spot.

Super dooper yummy! I had the memphian and it was awesome! The sandwich was FULL of meat, so much that I ran out of bun. And if you ask me that is how a sub should be. The gentleman that helped me was very friendly and polite. I wish I could remember his name, but I just can't :( I can't to return to try some of their delicious sounding salads.

OK avoid this place. One star because my son ate his Mac and Cheese. Who puts melted cheese on a French Dip? These guys do. We sent it back and to be fair the manager was sincere BUT the teenager who came back with the sandwich literally threw the plate on the table and was a total B about it--seriously? Needless to say steer clear of this place--there are better choices in the Springs!

Wrote a review on the other page figured I would get this one too. Swing by 7-11 grab a sandwich, put it in the microwave and you have a melt!?! Soggy, thin, and flavorless. Not sure how they got any good reviews on there food. Price was ok, I thought until I saw what it was I was paying for. Make no mistake this is NOT a deli. Pass if you can.

Our first and last visit to this location.... We stood at the register to order for over 5 minutes waiting to order because the worker was refilling tea drinks....when she finally made her way over, we were greeted with "what do you want?" Then, when my eight year old ordered a kids meal, the woman asked "which side" and when I asked what options she could choose from- I was told to "read the sign." Then when we asked about where the muffuletta was listed in the board- she waved behind her and dismissively said "it's up there somewhere!" Our food came out fast, but by that time I was too angry to eat. Visited 12/6/13 at 1:30pm.

Sad to see what could be a good business, in a great location, do so poorly. At 12:15 on a Sunday there were 3 couples. I think the loud, twangy country music chased the others out and these three just felt sorry for the restaurant. I mentioned this to the manager who absolutely clueless as to why this was not working for the clientele or the business.

Enroute to the Safari of Lights at the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo, the family popped in for a quick dinner. Wife got a giant potato that was micro waved with a blob of cheese on top. Daughter one got a jar queso heated with canned peppers, and a side of bagged chips. Daughter two got the chili in a bread bowl which was a bit too spicy for her, but the very best of the lot and the only reason they did not get only one star. I got the New Yorker pastrami and corned beef on rye with mustard. It was tiny, rather pedestrian and clearly not authentic at a deli that should pride itself on this classic sandwich--though the rye bread was pretty good. Instead, this place all miserably short of expectations. Though clean in appearance, it was sterile in ambiance. No soul in the menu for a place that asserts to be a deli. Blah food, small portions, mediocre service and way, way overpriced for the product they offer spell trouble for this meager franchise. Disappointed.
